Professional Experience
Raymond R. Mandra is the Chair of the firm’s Biotechnology Practice Group.
He joined Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto in 1989. Since that time he has concentrated in the areas of patent counseling, application writing, prosecution, litigation, licensing and due diligence primarily involving the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and biotechnological sciences.
Mr. Mandra has prepared numerous chemical, pharmaceutical and food related patent applications for various clients, including Warner Chilcott, Genzyme, Mars Incorporated, Pfizer, Novartis, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Leo Pharma Inc and Astellas Pharma Inc. Mr. Mandra has extensive experience in the prosecution of both U.S. patent applications and international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. He has also been substantially involved in various patent litigations, reexaminations and reissues.
Prior to joining Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, Mr. Mandra worked for nine years as a chemist for the General Foods Corporation.
Awards and Recognition
Mr. Mandra was listed in Legal 500 2007, 2008, and 2009 in Patent Litigation. He was also listed as a Leading Lawyer in Legal 500 2008 for Patent Re-examination.
